Marco & Inge
living in nature
a place to reconnect
- Comfortable double bed with soft linen
- Snug sofa and homely dining table
- Wood stove for cooler evenings
- Bright and cozy with lots of natural materials
- Warm, inviting atmosphere — perfect for reading or journaling
- Chão da Mina runs on solar energy. What the sun gives, we can use.
- Living here invites a modest use of electricity (especially in winter), with care and awareness as part of the experience.
cooking
take care of yourself
- Compact kitchenette equipped with all the basics:
- Induction cooker, fridge, kettle, coffee machine and cooking utensils
- Water from the tap comes from our well
- Olive oil, salt, and basic pantry items provided
- Fresh produce available from nearby markets in the surrounding area
- From May to October, Portugal’s countryside can become very hot and dry.
During this period, open fires and barbecues are restricted by law to prevent wildfires.
bathing
slow down & reset
- Rain shower and flush toilet
- Towels and natural soap provided
- Water at Chão da Mina comes from our own borehole, drawn fresh from deep underground. It is clean (yes, it’s tested!), natural, but also finite.
- Living here invites mindful and modest use of water — especially in the dry summer months, when respecting the land’s limits becomes part of daily life.
plunge pool
From May – October there is a small plunge pool for hot summer days

outdoor space
outside living
- Our terrain spans almost two hectares, full of olive trees, cork oaks and fruit trees. Plenty of space!
- The holiday house has two covered terraces with different moods:
- one is perfect for morning coffee
- one gives shade for afternoon rest
- Private parking on a fully fenced terrain
- Breathtaking starry skies!
Pet-friendly stay
we all inter-are
- Well-behaved pets are welcome 🐕😻
- Please keep pets under your supervision — there are other cats, birds, and wild animals around
- Please keep your dog on a leash at all times — for the safety of our animals and the peace of the land
- Pet owners are kindly asked to clean up after their animals
- Bring your own pet bed or blanket
